Middle Eastern flavour meets Melbourne laneway chic at Souk on Bligh Place. Upon entering, diners are transported into an Arabian experience, with neon colours and wall art depicting the style of this restaurant and bar. The concept of writing backwards is embraced in Souk’s logo and décor, with mirrors and reflections offering a glimpse of Arabic style in an interior divided into two levels - a bar downstairs and dining space upstairs. Guests may peruse a menu full of small and medium plates to share and salivate over prawn falafels, served with smoked black tahini, coriander mayonnaise and tomato oil or try the crumbed chicken ribs with sweet cucumber and harissa sauce. Then share charcoal octopus, Muhammara sauce, roasted potatoes and herb oil or Arabian tacos served in a pita cone.
